The EMAS Education Team is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Practice Placement Team.
The Practice Placement Coordinator will play a key role in supporting high-quality practice learning across the Trust, ensuring apprentices, students and learners are effectively supported throughout their development.
Working within the Organisational Learning Directorate, the post holder will coordinate practice placements and learner allocations, support apprenticeship programmes and recruitment activity, and act as a key link between Education, operational teams and Higher Education Institution partners.
The role will also support the continued expansion of our Practice Educator programmes, helping to ensure sufficient trained Practice Educators are available to support the Trust’s workforce growth.
Working closely with the Practice Placement Manager, education colleagues, operational managers and external partners, the post holder will contribute to quality assurance, governance and continuous improvement, helping EMAS provide an excellent learner experience and a sustainable future workforce.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will coordinate practice placements for apprentices, students and learners, working closely with operational teams, Practice Educators and Higher Education Institution partners to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
You will support apprenticeship programmes, coordinate the delivery of Practice Educator courses, assist with recruitment and interview activities, and help maintain placement capacity to meet the Trust's growing workforce needs. You will also contribute to quality assurance, governance and the continuous improvement of practice learning, playing a key role in developing the future clinical workforce at EMAS.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the administration of practice placements, ensuring learners are allocated to appropriate placement areas and supported throughout their practice learning.
- Act as a key point of contact for learners, Practice Educators, operational colleagues and Higher Education Institution partners, responding to enquiries and resolving placement-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Analyse, interpret and respond to complex queries relating to practice placements, apprenticeship programmes, learner progression and Practice Educator support.
- Produce timely reports and management information relating to placement activity, apprenticeship numbers, Practice Educator capacity and workforce demand to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Maintain accurate learner, placement and Practice Educator records, ensuring compliance with Trust policies, apprenticeship funding requirements, professional standards and information governance legislation.
- Develop, maintain and review standard operating procedures and administrative processes to ensure consistent, efficient and effective practice placement coordination.
- Support the planning, coordination and continuous improvement of apprenticeship and practice placement projects, contributing to service development and workforce planning initiatives.
- Coordinate communications relating to practice learning, ensuring enquiries from learners, managers, Practice Educators and partner organisations are prioritised, managed effectively and resolved promptly.
- Support the organisation and delivery of recruitment and interview processes for apprenticeship and education programmes, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Coordinate the planning and administration of Practice Educator programmes, maintaining sufficient educator capacity to support the Trust's expanding workforce.
- Assist with the induction, training and ongoing support of Practice Educators, providing advice, guidance and signposting to educational resources where appropriate.
- Monitor placement capacity across the Trust, identifying risks, escalating concerns and working collaboratively with operational services to maximise learning opportunities.
- Support quality assurance, governance and audit processes relating to practice learning, using learner and educator feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Organisational Learning Directorate and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality practice learning experiences that support the Trust's workforce strategy.

Qualifications
- Educated to Diploma Level or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the use of GRS in a resourcing role.
- Experience of database management
- Experience of managing own time, using initiative, prioritising workload and working to deadlines.
- Experience of people management issues in relation to rostering requirements
- Preparation of reports and presentations.
- Experience of training others.
- Minimum of 1 years experience in a GRS administration role.Minimum of 2 years experience in the use of GRS in a resourcing role.
- Experience of database management
- Experience of managing own time, using initiative, prioritising workload and working to deadlines.
- Experience of people management issues in relation to rostering requirements
- Preparation of reports and presentations.
- Experience of training others.
- Minimum of 1 years experience in a GRS administration role.
- Experience of Line Management and day to day supervision of direct reports
- Experience of using SQL programming language to interrogate databases
Knowledge and skills
- A thorough understanding of Trust policies and procedures relating to staff time and attendance, improving working lives and equality and diversity.
- A working knowledge of Working Time Directives and , General Data Protection
- Demonstrable understanding of Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions in relation to (but not limited to) NHS working time conditions including unsocial hours and average holiday pay.
- Working knowledge of the various types of rostering arrangements as operated within the Trust.
- Very competent IT, literacy and numeracy skills.
- Competent verbal and written communications skills.
- Able to handle competing demands.
- Experience of testing and validating systems or processes
