At East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust, we are committed to delivering excellent patient care and exploring opportunities for continuous service delivery improvements. As part of our Reshaping EOC programme, a new role of EOC Clinical Commander has been established, and we are now recruiting experienced operational and command-focused leaders for the EOC Clinical Hub.

The EOC Clinical Commander will be accountable to the EOC Senior Manager (Clinical) and will work closely with area management teams, including the EOC Head of Clinical Services, Clinical Workforce Managers, and EOC Senior Clinical Leaders. The role involves providing a 24/7 tactical command in EOC, overseeing the coordination and performance of the Clinical Hub to meet national and local KPIs. The commander will demonstrate visible leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and risk assessment in a dynamic environment, managing the daily tactical plan.

In conjunction with the EOC Duty Commander, the role involves undertaking the national major incident doctrine and associated action cards, functioning as either a Tactical Commander or Operational Commander, depending on the incident and command structure.
