About the brand and the role: Money Marketing, the award-winning title for the UK’s financial adviser profession, is looking for a sharp, driven and digitally minded Senior Reporter to drive our news agenda and help shape the future of our editorial output. This is a key newsroom position with real influence and scope to progress. You’ll be responsible for generating high-impact exclusives, shaping feature content and playing a key role in the evolution of our online-first strategy. You’ll also support content planning and commissioning and contribute to audio-visual and editorial innovation.

Key responsibilities:

  • News leadership: Deliver exclusive, off-diary news stories that set the industry agenda. Build and maintain deep contacts within the financial services sector to ensure Money Marketing breaks stories first.
  • Feature development: Pitch, write and edit engaging feature content. Collaborate with the team on new section ideas and help with interviews, opinion pieces and longform journalism.
  • Editorial strategy: Work with the editor to refresh and align our content in line with our digital transformation. Help streamline workflows and forward planning across the team.
  • Commissioning and editing: Liaise with freelancers, help manage the features pipeline and contribute to weekly scheduling and sub-editing.
  • Digital and multimedia: Support the development of a focused audio and video content strategy, with a view to boosting engagement.
  • Social media: Assist the digital content editor in developing ideas for social media engagement across our platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in B2B news journalism, ideally in financial services
  • A strong news sense with a track record of breaking exclusives
  • Excellent writing and editing skills across both news and features
  • Experience commissioning and managing freelance contributors
  • An understanding of digital publishing, including content planning, SEO and audience engagement
  • Comfortable working across multimedia platforms (audio, video, social)
  • A collaborative mindset with a desire to mentor and share knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
