Overall Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will conduct outbound calls and emails to generate award entries, drive conference delegate revenue, maintain and grow relationships, exceed sales targets, and secure repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise and maintain brand profile with your connections
- Work with event marketing and operations leads to conduct outbound calling during the sales period for entries and attendance
- Manage inbound calls and enquiries, log communication, and convert inquiries into bookings
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and periodic reporting on YoY event sales performance
- Collaborate with the Head of Delegate Sales to conduct market research for new business acquisition
- Identify and develop new business leads and accounts
- Work closely with the brand’s commercial/sponsorship teams to understand their brand and clientele
- Attend events as required, meet prospective clients, and provide event exposure through conversation
- Use mail merge/email systems to reach out to prospective attendees for an event
- Ensure delivery against sales targets across the portfolio of events
- Prioritize, monitor, and report sales opportunities to ensure targets are being met
- Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets to benefit from a lucrative commission scheme and other incentives
- Use brand and event knowledge to devise sales plans and outreach strategies to drive event sales
Skills and Experience
- 1 year’s sales experience in the B2B sector
- Previous commercial telephone or similar sales experience preferred
- Sales-oriented with a consultative approach
- Ability to communicate at a senior executive level professionally
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Well-organised and able to deliver under pressure and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail, ensuring high-quality communications
- Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Commitment to high-standard customer service and client relationships
- Ability to conduct telephone research/acquire feedback and speak to client pools
- Driven by event performance targets
