Overall Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting outbound calls and emails to generate award entries, attendance at awards and drive conference delegate revenue for our events.
You will be responsible for maintaining, developing and growing relationships to generate sales, exceed targets and secure repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
- To raise and maintain brand profile with your connections
- Work with the events marketing and operations leads to conduct outbound calling during the sales period for entries and event attendance
- Work on a wide array of brands and events, keeping on top of inbound calls and enquiries, logging communication and turning enquiries into bookings
- Prepare weekly, monthly and periodic reporting as per requirements of the team to showcase Yo Y event sales performance
- Work with the Head of Delegate Sales to conduct market research for new business to acquire the market response.
- Identify and develop new business leads and develop new business accounts
- Work closely with the brand’s commercial/sponsorship teams to understand their brand and clientele
- Attend our events as required, to meet with prospective clients, and provide exposure of the events through conversation.
- Using mail merge/email systems to reach out to prospective attendees for an event
- Ensure maximum delivery against sales targets across portfolio of events
- Monitoring, prioritizing, and reporting sales and opportunities to ensure that targets are being met and business opportunities are being exposed
- Quarterly and annual revenue targets to benefit from a lucrative commission scheme and other incentives (both team and individual)
- Using brand and event knowledge to devise sales plans and outreach strategy to drive event sales
Skills and Experience
- 1 year’s sales experience in the B2B sector
- Previous commercial telephone experience or sales experience in a similar role is preferable
- Sales orientated with a consultative style
- Ability to communicate at a senior executive level in a professional manner
- Outstanding communication skills in written and verbal
- Well-organised and able to deliver when under pressure and to deadlines
- Ability to pay attention to detail and ensure all communications are of high quality
- Commitment to a high standard of customer service and client relations
- Ability to conduct telephone research/acquire feedback, speaking to pools of clients
- Driven by event performance targets
