The role involves a hands-on position where you can utilise your building and maintenance skills. You will manage, monitor and undertake a range of maintenance duties and minor building-related projects. This includes practical tasks across various trades, such as carpentry, carpet laying, brickwork, plastering, glazing, plumbing, decorating, and minor electrical and lighting work.

A key part of your role will be the ongoing assessment of the school's estate, identifying and reporting any issues, and taking swift action to maintain a safe environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. This also includes supervising contractors and ensuring that Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times.

The hours for this role are from 12.00pm to 9.00pm, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday. You may occasionally work additional hours to assist the department, with a choice of overtime or time off in lieu agreed.

We are looking for candidates with a broad range of practical building and maintenance skills, including carpentry, decorating, brickwork, plumbing, plastering, and minor electrical works. Previous experience in delivering building projects, supervising contractors, and carrying out routine maintenance is essential, along with an understanding and experience of Health & Safety or regulatory compliance.

You will also need excellent organisational, timekeeping, and problem-solving skills, along with good written and spoken English and the ability to communicate clearly in a professional manner. A full UK driving license is also essential.
