This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pianist/Organist to play a key role supporting the extensive musical provision of Emanuel school. As a Musician in Residence, you will be responsible for providing excellent piano accompaniment for solo performances and ensemble rehearsals, and accompanying chapel services on the organ. Depending on your other instrumental experience, there is also the potential for you to assist and conduct other ensembles in the department.

You will also support the department by providing composition assistance to students in GCSE and A Level Music lessons and assisting with the planning and delivery of music department performances and events. There is also potential to take on individual piano and organ lessons, which would be arranged under a separate, freelance arrangement.

There is some flexibility around working hours, but you will need to be available for:

  • Performance platforms – 4pm – 5:30pm on Mondays
  • Chapel services – 11:30am – 12pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • Composition club – 4pm – 5pm on either or both a Wednesday or Thursday
  • All day on Fridays
  • An additional chapel service (day and time TBC, some flexibility)
