Are you an experienced Network & Infrastructure Engineer with strong systems, virtualization, and network lifecycle management expertise? Emagine has an opportunity for you to support the upgrade of a full network infrastructure environment and drive the design and implementation of a modern, secure architecture with a global team. You’ll collaborate closely with group IT teams, contribute to solution design, and then lead the implementation at the Winnersh site — ensuring full alignment with enterprise standards.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the design of the new site network architecture alongside global IT stakeholders.
- Upgrade the network infrastructure to IDEMIA standards.
- Solve and document Level 2 IT issues raised through the ticketing system.
- Support installation and maintenance of operating systems, software, and applications following defined processes.
- Manage communication with internal customers from request to resolution, working collaboratively across departments.
- Assist and supervise external vendors, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Manage IT assets including servers, network equipment, and licences.
- Coordinate access to IT tools while ensuring adherence to security standards.
- Provide support across server infrastructure, virtualization, communication systems, and security.
- Manage and monitor VMware and installed system environments.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain OS, application software, and management tools.
- Ensure maximum systems and infrastructure availability.
- Troubleshoot complex end-user issues; document working instructions; escalate when required.
- Maintain security posture, backups, firmware upgrades, and redundancy strategies.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support.
- Liaise with vendors and IT teams for issue resolution.
- Deliver end-user training and knowledge transfer to IT colleagues.
- Propose improvement ideas and participate in IT projects for the global IPS division.
- Manage desktop devices and printers.
- Operate autonomously and report to the IT Lead or IT Manager.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong network engineering knowledge.
- Firewall administration experience.
- Hardware and software lifecycle management.
- Linux & Windows system administration.
- Virtualisation (including VMware), build & test tool usage.
- Active Directory & user management.
- Solid problem solving, time management, and critical thinking.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service approach.
- UK Home Office SC level clearance required.
