Role and responsibilities
As a Senior Principal Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in driving drug target discovery for cardiometabolic diseases (CMD) by leveraging cutting-edge computational biology, systems biology, and AI approaches. Your work will directly influence early pipeline projects and shape the future of data-driven drug discovery within a globally distributed BioAI organisation.
- Lead high-value AI-driven and data analysis projects supporting drug target discovery.
- Translate ultra-high throughput in-vitro screening results into viable drug target candidates.
- Apply systems biology approaches to analyse high-dimensional datasets, including cell painting and omics data.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging AI methodologies and continuously enhance internal evaluation frameworks.
- Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with scientific and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with drug discovery strategies.
- Contribute to the systems biology strategy, including its design, execution, and long-term evolution.
Must-Have Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in cellular biology, molecular biology, computational biology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or tech-bio environment.
- Proven scientific leadership experience, particularly in drug target identification and discovery.
- Strong expertise in AI and systems biology applied to biological data analysis.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data curation, analysis, and interpretation.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly to diverse audiences.
- PhD in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Hands-on experience in cardiometabolic disease–relevant cellular or molecular biology.
