We are seeking experienced Transaction Monitoring Scenario Engineers with strong expertise in Quantexa to drive advanced model development, calibration, and optimisation initiatives. This role is centred on designing, tuning, and validating data-driven transaction monitoring models within the Quantexa platform, enhancing detection capability while balancing false positives and operational efficiency. You will play a key role in ensuring models are robust, scalable, and aligned to regulatory expectations, with a particular focus on model calibration, threshold tuning, and segmentation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimise Quantexa transaction monitoring scenarios, leveraging entity resolution, network analytics, and contextual data to improve detection outcomes.
  • Lead model calibration and tuning activities, including threshold optimisation, score weighting, and segmentation strategies to maximise detection efficiency while reducing false positives.
  • Develop and maintain scorecards and risk models, incorporating behavioural indicators, customer segmentation, and risk-based approaches aligned to business risk appetite.
  • Own the end-to-end model testing life cycle, including back-testing, forward-testing, and sensitivity analysis to ensure models are performant and resilient.
  • Support model validation processes, providing detailed documentation, assumptions, performance metrics, and remediation actions in line with governance frameworks.
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into Quantexa configurations, data models, and analytical logic, ensuring accurate deployment into production.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, data, and architecture teams to implement and optimise models within the Quantexa ecosystem.
  • Act as a key interface across Financial Crime, Compliance, Risk, and Technology, ensuring solutions meet regulatory and operational expectations.
  • Drive improvements in data quality, lineage, and governance, ensuring models are built on trusted and traceable datasets.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in transaction monitoring scenario design within Quantexa.
  • Strong expertise in model calibration and tuning (thresholds, weights, optimisation).
  • Scenario modelling and rule design.
  • Customer and transaction segmentation strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with Quantexa platform capabilities, including configuration, data ingestion, and network-based analytics.
  • Solid experience in testing methodologies (back-testing, sensitivity analysis, performance tuning).
  • Strong understanding of model validation frameworks, governance, and audit requirements.
  • Experience translating analytical requirements into technical specifications and Quantexa configurations.
  • Knowledge of AML/KYC regulations (CDD, EDD, SAR/STR reporting).
  • Experience working within financial crime transformation or data-driven programmes.
  • Familiarity with data modelling, architecture, and integration in complex environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Background in large-scale financial crime or risk transformation programmes.
