We are seeking an experienced Application Support professional to support a Derivatives team. The role focuses on ensuring trade accuracy, completeness, and operational continuity across front-to-back systems, covering both cleared and bilateral products. The ideal individual will have hands-on experience in trade workflows, clearing platforms, and production application support, with strong technical proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end support of derivatives trade flows (listed and OTC), ensuring accurate booking, confirmation, clearing, settlement, and reporting.
  • Monitor and resolve exceptions, breaks, and issues across trade and settlement systems (e.g., Murex, BaNCS, Global One, Front Arena, Optic).
  • Support cleared and bilateral derivative products, including IR Swaps, FRAs, FX Swaps, CDS, TRS, Swaptions, and other structured instruments.
  • Perform production support and application management, including batch/job monitoring, interfacing with middleware (MQ, FIX/FIXML), and database queries (SQL/PL-SQL).
  • Collaborate with business, technology, and operations teams to resolve incidents, manage changes, and implement system enhancements.
  • Participate in system migrations, upgrades, and release management, ensuring minimal disruption to trade processing.
  • Assist with process improvements, reporting enhancements, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Contribute to risk management, regulatory compliance, and controls, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Provide out-of-hours support as required, including DR exercises and weekend releases.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience supporting either Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, or Trade Operations within Investment Banking or Asset Management.
  • Solid understanding of derivatives trade lifecycle, clearing processes, and front-to-back systems.
  • Hands-on experience with clearing platforms (LCH, Eurex, JSCC, NLX) and trade monitoring tools (e.g., ITRS Geneos).
  • Strong technical skills, including SQL, Shell/Python/Perl scripting, Control-M, and familiarity with middleware and trade interfaces (MQ, FIX/FIXML).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production support environment, resolving incidents and managing escalations.
  • Experience with application support, batch monitoring, UAT/OAT, and change management.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently when required.
  • Exposure to Murex, BaNCS, Global One, Front Arena, or similar trade systems preferred.

Nice-to-Have

  • Knowledge of derivative product pricing, valuations, and compression workflows.
  • Experience with reporting and analytics (SQL, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Tableau).
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives within Middle Office or operations functions.
