Financial Accountant - Banking/Financial Services Exp £450-550pd Inside IR35 Initial 6 month engagement 3 days on site.

The Financial Accountant role is essential for ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining robust financial controls within a high-performing finance team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate accounting differences.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Support the external audit process by providing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
  • Maintain strong financial controls across accounting processes.
  • Review accounting entries and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards where required.
  • Assist with technical accounting analysis and preparation of accounting papers.

Key Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Minimum four years' post-qualified accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting.
  • Experience working within banking or financial services.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience of IFRS 9 and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) reporting.
  • Exposure to capital markets or investment banking products.
  • Experience supporting statutory accounts and external audits.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting (FINREP or similar).
  • Experience of finance transformation or process improvement initiatives.
