We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to join our Technology Practice as a Technical Business Analyst, delivering key projects as part of our Front Office change team. As a lead Business Analyst within the project team, this role involves working directly with FX Traders, Sales, Quants, and Technology teams. The Business Analyst will deliver improvements to live, business-critical trading systems. The role requires strong Front Office trading knowledge, the ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable functional specifications, and hands-on involvement through delivery, testing, and implementation.
The role:
- Working directly on the trading floor writing actionable specs for strategic project initiatives, and ensuring all technical teams have understood what needs to be done.
- Partner closely with FX Front Office stakeholders (Trading, Sales, Structuring) to support delivery of enhancement-driven initiatives across the TFX platform.
- Operate as a trusted Front Office technology partner, capturing business needs and translating them into high-quality functional requirements.
- Engage daily with Quants, Engineering, Operations, Risk, Finance, and Compliance to ensure aligned and controlled delivery.
- Perform detailed business, systems, and data analysis, including elicitation, documentation, validation, and sign-off of requirements.
- Produce clear, actionable functional specifications covering workflows, data models, calculations, and control logic.
- Analyse relationships between market data, pricing analytics, trade capture, and valuation outputs.
- Deliver enhancements across pricing, execution, analytics, and market data components of the FX trading platform.
- Support initiatives impacting both electronic and non-electronic FX trading flows, including exception handling and manual workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams working on Big Data platforms and KDB, supporting high-volume market data and trading analytics use cases.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Strong, hands-on understanding of FX markets and FX trading products; exposure to Rates or wider FICC is beneficial.
- Proven Business Analysis experience supporting Front Office FX trading platforms in a banking environment.
- Demonstrable experience delivering enhancements on live trading systems.
- In-depth knowledge of the FX trade lifecycle, from pricing and execution through booking and post-trade.
- Technical proficiency in Python and Java, sufficient to engage credibly with engineers and data teams.
- Experience working with Big Data platforms and KDB.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across global, cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to operate on the trading floor.
