A leading Capital Markets business is seeking a hands-on Business Analyst to support its Front Office regulatory controls function. This is a high-visibility, fast-paced role working directly with a senior stakeholder. The team is intentionally lean, so you will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, prioritise effectively under pressure, and deliver with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Front Office, COO, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams.
- Analyse and support the resolution of Front Office issues, including control breaches, trader incidents, electronic trading queries, and limit management.
- Conduct process reviews and gap analyses to identify opportunities for control improvements.
- Work directly with a senior subject matter expert to define problems and propose solutions, taking ownership of delivery.
- Produce clear, structured analysis, documentation, and reporting to drive issues through to resolution.
- Drive, enable and support the business by partnering with leaders, clients, and consultants across practices to identify opportunities, qualify solutions, and present them to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Proven Business Analyst experience within a Front Office (sales & trading) environment.
- Direct exposure to regulatory or control-related issues such as control breaches, trader incidents, electronic trading, and/or limits management.
- Comfortable operating as the sole BA aligned to a desk, without a wider team for support.
- Strong self-management and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex regulatory topics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- Experience within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 investment bank.
- Familiarity with capital markets regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, electronic trading controls, market risk limits).
