Girlings & Co, in Ruddington, is seeking an enthusiastic Payroll Apprentice to join their dynamic team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start a career in payroll, providing practical experience. You will process payroll, issue payslips, create reports, use Sage, and be supported to achieve a Level 3 qualification with EMA.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing the company's payroll each pay period
- Maintaining payroll processing systems and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
- Computing employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes
- Answering staff questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records
- Managing requests for leave and absences
- Handling changes in exemptions, job status, and titles
- Adhering to payroll policies and HMRC regulations
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies in timesheets and payroll records
- Maintaining confidentiality of employee pay records
- Completing payroll reports for record-keeping and review
- Calculating PAYE taxes and National Insurance contributions
