We are currently supporting an exceptional business in South Leeds who are looking to appoint an experienced Management Accountant on a full time, permanent basis. This is an exciting time to join the company and you will have the opportunity to lead and shape processes, making a real impact on the organisation's financial operations. This is a key role responsible for delivering accurate monthly management accounts, supporting group reporting, and providing commercial insight to drive business performance. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will lead the production of monthly management accounts and group submissions, while supporting financial control and decision-making across the business. You will also manage and develop a small finance team, ensuring high standards of accuracy and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end close process within strict deadlines
- Produce monthly Board MI including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
- Provide variance analysis and commentary
- Prepare group reporting submissions
- Intercompany reconciliations across multiple entities
- Partner with Sales and Purchasing to analyse margins and drive cost control
- Take ownership of stock accounting, including valuation and reconciliations
- Support audit, VAT, and tax processes
- Review and improve financial controls and processes
- Manage and develop the Assistant Accountant and Accounts Assistants
What do you need?
- Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) – Essential
- Experience in a multi-entity or group reporting environment – Desirable
- Strong understanding of management accounts and financial reporting – Essential
- Advanced Excel skills
- Commercial mindset with the ability to provide actionable insights
- Experience within Wholesale, Distribution or a product based environment would be highly beneficial.
