About Us

Elysium Training provides alternative provision for young people with significant barriers to learning, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). We specialise in supporting learners with SEND, primarily those with SEMH needs, offering KS4 intervention and a post‑16 curriculum. Our programmes combine construction‑based vocational pathways with Preparing for Adulthood and employability skills, delivered through a trauma‑informed, relational approach. Our mission – Changing Lives, Building Futures, Striving for Success – is underpinned by our values: Self-Worth | Unity | Creativity | Commitment | Empathy | Safety | Stability. These values shape our culture, relationships and daily practice.

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist team. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide individual and small‑group support to learners with SEND, EHCPs and SEMH needs
  • Support learners to access learning, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes
  • Promote inclusion, independence and participation across academic and vocational learning environments
  • Work alongside tutors, instructors and pastoral staff to implement personalised support strategies
  • Support learners to develop literacy, numeracy, communication and employability skills
  • Encourage resilience, emotional regulation and positive behaviour through a relational approach
  • Assist in maintaining safe, calm and purposeful learning environments
  • Contribute to Preparing for Adulthood outcomes and learner progression pathways
  • Work collaboratively within a trauma‑informed, relational framework

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who are:

  • Passionate about supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Confident building positive relationships with learners, families and colleagues
  • Committed to inclusive, relational practice
  • Calm, resilient and solution‑focused
  • Patient, empathetic and able to maintain high expectations
  • Motivated to support learners to achieve meaningful adult outcomes
  • Able to adapt their approach to meet individual learner needs

Experience within alternative provision, FE or specialist SEND settings is desirable but not essential. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, experience supporting learners with EHCPs, and knowledge of trauma‑informed practice would be advantageous.

Safeguarding and Professional Conduct

All staff at Elysium play a vital role in creating a safe, stable and supportive environment. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding practice in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (2025), Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023), the Care Act (2014) and local WSCP / WSAB procedures
