As a Support Services Manager, you will work 37.5 hours per week, where you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults. Plan and respond to Planned Preventative Maintenance and emergency calls. As the Support Services Manager you will be an active member of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Registered Manager, and work alongside an established team. You will be responsible for all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service and have a proven background with maintenance in similar industries/healthcare settings.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the completion of PPM checks on a daily, weekly, monthly basis and audits when required.
- Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing all paperwork and tool checks.
- Reviewing daily work sheets and prioritising tasks accordingly and complete as directed.
- Providing out of hours assistance if required.
- Providing support to catering and housekeeping departments on site.
- Ensuring the services facilities, grounds and gardens are maintained.
- Developing the teams through professional records and appraisals as appropriate.
- Maintaining effective working relationships and responding effectively to poor performance in team members.
- Ensuring new starters are entered onto the Key Watchman system and keys allocated as necessary.
- Supervising the routine water and electrical mains system testing, and where necessary implementing corrective action.
- Supervising Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) so that all portable equipment has a current test status.
- Taking personal responsibility for ensuring that the work practices and the environment meet the requirements of Health and Safety at Work legislation and reporting all deficits to management.
- Providing feedback to SMT, CG and H&S meetings.
- Maintaining the highest standards of integrity when communicating with staff, patients, family, carers, and other professionals.
- Maintaining concise records and providing reports, as necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience within a similar role.
- General building trade experience.
- Ability to paint and decorate.
- Knowledge/Experience in the use of hand tools.
- Knowledge/Experience of electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance.
- Knowledge/Experience of using computer‑based programmes.
- Knowledge of COSHH, SSOW, risk assessments, Health & Safety at Work.
- Full driving licence.
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with ward and department staff and visitors.
