First impressions matter. As a Receptionist, you play a pivotal role in setting the tone for every interaction. You are the first face and first conversation visitors to The Spinney in Atherton, Manchester will experience. Your warm and friendly personality will shine through as you greet and assist staff, visitors and service users.
Responsibilities
In this exciting role at The Spinney, a service for men aged 18 years and over with mental health problems, each day brings different challenges and experiences. Working alongside the reception team your key responsibilities will be:
- Welcoming all visitors in a friendly manner and ensuring they sign the visitor book.
- Maintaining the upkeep of the reception area & meeting rooms to ensure they are presentable.
- Managing the office diary for meetings, events, training days and therapy sessions.
- Ensuring confidentiality and security to the service.
- Receiving and dealing with telephone calls, emails and post.
- Ad hoc administration tasks.
- Ensuring all appropriate leaflets and brochures are on display.
- Managing deliveries.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience.
- Computer skills.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be professional, confident and diplomatic.
- GCSE English Language Grade C or above.
- Be efficient and enthusiastic.
- Awareness of understanding confidentiality and security.

Where you will be working:
Location: Everest Road, Atherton, Manchester, M46 9NT. You will be working at The Spinney, a service which offers a range of care settings for male patients with personality disorder and/or mental illness. The purpose-built medium, low secure and rehabilitation wards, as well as a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) are all set within an 11-acre site with extensive woodland and landscaped areas.
You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team at The Spinney who have previously been recognised by the Association of Psychological Therapies (APT) for their ability to reinforce positive behaviour, prevention of challenging behaviour and successful interventions in a secure care setting.
