Are you passionate about transforming young lives through expert psychiatric care? Join Rhodes Wood Hospital, a supportive and experienced team as a Consultant Psychiatrist within our Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CYPMHS), providing specialist care for young people aged 12 to 18 with eating disorders. You will work in a service that delivers evidence-based, individualised treatment programmes designed to meet each young person’s unique needs.
As a CYPMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:
- Review referrals and determine appropriateness for admission
- Conduct admission assessments and ensure effective management plans
- Participate in the assessment and management of children and young people referred to the Service
- Conduct risk assessments and review regularly
- Assess physical health
- Provide leadership, supervision, reflection, and risk management to the key workers on the team
- Abide by, and contribute to, the governance arrangements and processes of the service, including culturally competent practice, record keeping, and safeguarding duties
- Supervise non-training grade doctors and psychiatric trainees allocated to the teams
- Enact cross-cover arrangements for annual, study and professional leave with other child and adolescent psychiatrists in the department
- Participate in the CYPMHS Consultant on-call duty rota
- Engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
- Establish effective working relationships with GPs, CYPMHS community teams, specialists and commissioners
- Uphold principles of Clinical Governance and adhere to the organisation’s clinical governance requirements
- Take part in an Annual Appraisal Programme, developing Personal Development Plans focused on CPD
Qualifications:
- Registered on the GMC Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a licence to practise
- Experience of CYPMHS Eating Disorders
