What you will be doing:
You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities & Autism, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recovery pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life. Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.
The shift patterns: 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week (37.5 hours) including nights and weekends.
Where you will be working:
Location: Beck House, Hammond Drive, Lakeside, Darlington, County Durham, DL1 5TH. Beck House is a registered care service with nursing that forms part of Elysium’s Learning Disabilities & Autism complex care service, which provides six bespoke single-person apartments, enabling individuals to live in their own space. The service is due to open in January 2026.
