You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with learning disability and Autism conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recovery pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life. Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.
Driver licence holder preferred.
The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.
Location: Spring House, Matford Road, Exeter, EX2 4PD. Spring House is a new 6 bed home with individual apartments for people with a learning disability or autism, who are stepping down from a hospital service and are ready to transition into the community for more independent living. This new service will open in March 2021.
