Are you a Carers Lead looking for a new opportunity to work at a friendly, values driven, established service? You will be providing support, advice and signposting to families, carers and/or significant others following admission and throughout their stay at Wellesley Hospital. You will need to be compassionate and empathic, responsive and understanding with a willingness to support both family carers and the treating Multi-disciplinary team. As the Carers Lead, you will be: Be responsible for providing support to individuals, some of who may be distressed. The post holder will need to be self-aware, compassionate and actively seek to address self-care. Be the lead for supporting carers forums, to encourage engagement in carers forums. Provide information to family carers about support groups available, this could include both local support groups and national support groups. Be responsible for linking family carers with relevant Multi-Disciplinary teams Use positive family engagement to transform the experiences of patients and families To be successful for this role, you will need: Working knowledge and practice of Professional Boundaries Experience of working with the public in a public facing service such as health care Desirable- Level 3 Health and Social Care Qualification IT Literate Knowledge of the Mental Health Act Good telephone skills Able to demonstrate active listening skills Personable, responsive and able to escalate carers concerns when applicable.
