Our Care Home service, known as Community Houses, has expanded to 4 sites across Keighley, providing step-down support to adults with complex mental health needs. We offer enhanced care to help Service Users continue their rehabilitation, including physical health monitoring with local medical support. Each service is a large residential house with an office, where you will assist Service Users with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, community activities, and encouraging independence. You may also participate in day trips, like seaside visits.

What you will be doing:

You will join a team supporting individuals with mental health conditions. Our step-down service bridges the gap between hospital and independent living, helping Service Users develop essential life skills. Whether you have experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Worker, your skills will help Service Users lead meaningful lives. You will work across four houses, promoting independence and well-being. A positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are crucial. The environment can be challenging but rewarding, as you see Service Users progress.

The service operates 24/7 with shifts on a rolling two-week schedule, covering days, nights, and weekends. Overtime and flexibility are available.

Senior Support Worker duties include:

  • Assisting Service Users with daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, washing, and personal care
  • Supporting recovery journeys
  • Promoting independence and empowerment
  • Updating care plans and recording notes
  • Facilitating activities and community-based rehabilitation
  • Administering medication
  • Performing general duties like admin, stock management, and liaising with healthcare providers

Some roles involve lone working, medication administration, and contributing to CPA meetings, requiring previous experience in these areas.

Where you will be working:

Location: Steeton, Sutton-In-Craven, and Cowling, Yorkshire. With 21 beds across four community houses in semi-rural areas, our locations facilitate safe, structured reintegration into the community. A driving license is not essential, but reliable public transport access is important for out-of-area residents. Many staff commute successfully by public transport. Day shifts start at 7:35 am.
