Role: Battery Modelling Engineer (All Levels)
Position Type: Permanent
Location: Kidlington, Oxford or Central London location available
Onsite policy: Hybrid, 3 days on / 2 days off working offered
Responsibilities
- Support the development of model parameterisation algorithms using lab-based and field data.
- Propose, develop, and lead the implementation of novel model architectures designed to capture application-specific degradation and/or safety risks.
- Support the development of battery characterisation test procedures optimised for accurate and rapid electro-thermal-ageing model parameterisation, or robust model validation.
- Develop empirical, physics-based, and physics-informed Li-ion battery models to predict electrical behaviour and degradation.
- Evaluate and optimise model performance based on cell-in-the-loop validation tests.
Key skills and qualifications
- Academic or industrial experience in mathematical modelling.
- Understanding of key degradation processes relevant to batteries.
- Experience in battery modelling, including reduced order and physics-based models.
