At Elyos, we're building AI voice agents that help trades businesses run smoother, scale faster, and deliver better customer experiences. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work closely with our customers to solve their hardest problems. You'll be on the front lines translating real-world needs into product improvements, integrations and solutions that drive impact. If you love working directly with users, tackling ambiguous challenges, and shipping code that makes a difference, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
- Partner with customers to understand their workflows, challenges, and goals - then design and deliver solutions tailored to them.
- Build and ship core features across our stack (Python, TypeScript, cloud infra, event-driven systems, third party integrations).
- Ship quickly: prototype, iterate, and deliver value in days, not months.
- Act as the bridge between customers and our core engineering team - bring back insights, influence the roadmap, and raise the bar for product quality.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle: scoping, building, deploying and supporting solutions in production.

What You Bring
- Strong fundamentals in software engineering — you can design, debug, and ship reliable systems.
- Proficiency with at least one of our core languages (Python or TypeScript) - or the ability to learn fast.
- Experience building and shipping production systems end-to-end, ideally in environments with direct user exposure.
- Comfort working across the stack - frontend, backend, infrastructure.
- Ability to work directly with customers or non-technical stakeholders to scope, negotiate, and deliver solutions.
- A track record of impact: maybe you've built something people use, led hairy integrations, or owned projects others avoided.
Bonus if you have:
- Experience in forward deployed or customer-facing (e.g solutions, sales) engineering roles.
- Early-stage startup experience, especially in AI, voice platforms, or event-driven systems.
- Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, serverless, distributed systems).
- Evidence of customer empathy - support experience, founder experience, or just building things that solved real user pain.
