I am currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for an award winning, international engineering company. You will work within a very integrated team, supporting the manufacturing process in three locations UK, USA and China - travelling is a key part of this role so flexibility is a necessity.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will

  • Have worked in a Manufacturing Engineering position previously for a manufacturing establishment, and have supported the whole manufacturing process from drawing to delivery, producing components of tight tolerances, where quality is a key component.
  • Have a background working within a CNC precision machining environment which includes grinding, turning and milling, precision metal cutting, working with complex forms and very tight tolerances.
  • Have qualifications to a minimum level of HNC/HND, preferably Degree.
  • Have substantial manufacturing experience of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Be willing to work abroad regularly for periods up to one month at any one of our manufacturing facilities (USA or China).
  • Have previous experience of working with a MRP system and familiarity with machines tools such as Doosan, Okuma, Toyoda and Studer.

The Role

  • Ensuring all pre-production activities including creation of stage drawings, writing of machine programmes, identification of tooling requirements and designing of fixtures, are carried out effectively and time‑conscious, and production delivery deadlines are met.
  • Participation in feasibility reviews for new components, determining the most optimistic manufacturing methods, and liaison with customers on adaptations or design changes and applicable cost implications.
  • Driving improvements in production processes through the use of methodology, developing appropriate methods and processes.
  • Supporting Sales by providing BoMs through MRP system (Epicor).
  • Delivering technical training to production operators, developing their skill and capability and building team working spirit.
  • Producing CAD drawings using SolidEdge.
