Salary £13.45 per hour. This is a fixed term arrangement for the months of June, July and August. Shifts will be every Saturday from 10am-2pm, with the opportunity to provide cover for additional shifts as needed during cathedral visitor opening hours (9.30am-4.30pm).
We have a vacancy for a fixed term role, joining our friendly and helpful visitor services team to provide cover over our busy summer season here at Ely Cathedral. You will be one of the first points of contact with the public, assisting with entry to the Cathedral for our many thousands of visitors each year, selling entry tickets and promoting use of the multimedia guides, and encouraging gift aid donations.
The ideal candidate should be welcoming and helpful, have excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds and cultures. They should also be confident using technology and point of sale systems, and able to cope with competing demands and priorities during busy periods, keeping calm under pressure.
The successful candidate may also have the opportunity for extra paid hours at other times of the year to cover staff absence/leave as required, on successful completion of this post.
