We are looking for a highly experienced Cloud Architect who is both architecturally strong and hands-on in development. This role is not a pure architect or governance role. The candidate must still actively write production code and design complex distributed systems. The client specifically wants a small number of exceptional engineers rather than many average profiles.
Must Haves:
- Strong AWS architecture and development experience
- Building event-driven systems (Kafka, EventBridge or similar)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- SQL and NoSQL databases
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Most importantly, candidates must demonstrate they can both design architecture and build it themselves.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in aviation or travel technology
- Knowledge of AI / ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
- Experience with observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch)
- Multi-cloud experience (Azure or GCP)
- AWS certifications
- Open-source contributions
Candidate Profile:
- A senior engineer or architect who still codes daily
- Able to operate in large enterprise environments
- Strong communicator who can influence technical direction
Important:
The client is prioritising quality over quantity and is specifically looking for top technical experts rather than general cloud engineers.
