Elwood Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a valued client - a specialist West Midlands provider with multiple services delivering high-quality care and support to children and young people with mental health needs, learning disabilities, complex needs, and emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Registered Manager to deliver high-quality, child-centred care. You’ll help lead the home, develop staff, and ensure excellent outcomes for children and young people in a safe, nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the overall management of the home
- Leading, supervising, and developing the staff team
- Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards
- Promoting safeguarding, risk management, and high-quality care practices
- Supporting care planning, reviews, and accurate record keeping
- Deputising for the Registered Manager when required
- Supporting rota management and staffing to meet the needs of the service
- Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Being flexible to support shifts and sleep-ins when required
About You
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Significant experience working in residential children’s care
- A relevant Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, legislation, and Ofsted requirements
- A full UK driving licence
- A flexible, resilient, and child-focused approach
