Elwood Recruitment is looking to recruit dedicated and experienced children’s support workers to support vulnerable children and young people aged 5‑18 within a residential service. As part of the care and support team you will assist in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children and young people living with moderate to severe learning disabilities, ADHD, complex needs, physical disabilities and sexualised behaviours (LD). Children could present emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and some elements of this role require personal care alongside promoting independent living skills in line with person‑centred support plans.

Responsibilities

  • Support, mentor and educate children with day‑to‑day activities to develop their emotional and social needs
  • Develop personal and practical skills to enhance independent living
  • Positive engagement to encourage children and young people in their development
  • Report and record key aspects of care and develop your professional skills as part of ongoing development plan
  • Manage complex behaviours that may challenge
  • Support and engage with a range of activities

On offer we have flexible shift patterns to suit your lifestyle, giving you full control of when you would like to work. Candidates can expect to be offered a mixture of early shifts, late shifts, long days and waking nights on a weekly basis.
