An established organisation within the satellite communications and secure connectivity industry is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Product Manager to join its Product team. This role would suit a technically strong Product Manager with experience across mobile satcoms, communications technology, airtime services, IP networking, hardware suppliers and product launches.
The successful candidate will act as the technical product champion across the organisation’s products and services, supporting internal teams, sales channels, customers and suppliers across multiple geographies. The role reports into the Head of Product & Airtime and will work closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Logistics, Procurement, Support and Executive Management teams.
The position requires someone who can take complex technical features and translate them into clear, customer-focused benefits for both internal stakeholders and external customers. You will support products from conception through to launch, ongoing improvement and end-of-life.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as the technical product champion for satellite communications, airtime and secure connectivity products and services
- Support the full product lifecycle from concept through to launch, development, service updates and end-of-life
- Act as the technical subject matter expert for satellite operators, service providers and manufacturers including Starlink, OneWeb, Cobham, Iridium, Inmarsat and other relevant technologies
- Keep sales teams and wider business functions updated on current and future services, market offerings and product capabilities
- Translate technical content into customer and benefits-led material including white papers, brochures, application notes, user guides, FAQs, technical service updates and sales benefit sheets
- Support input for press releases and external product messaging in collaboration with Marketing and Communications
- Assist with defining go-to-market strategy, technical positioning, key benefits and target customer groups
- Work with Marketing on sales collateral, user guides, FAQs, presentations, internal process documents, terms and conditions and product launch material
- Help drive new products and services across engineering, marketing, logistics, support, sales and procurement
- Work with Systems Engineering teams on product evaluations, technical product input and internal product launches
- Provide technical product support in customer meetings, demonstrations and events
- Capture requirements for internal and external software development projects
- Manage in-house product-related projects
- Deliver internal training for sales, support and relevant back-office teams
- Coordinate Technical Service Bulletin distribution with local management and sales directors where translation or local requirements apply
- Carry out competitor analysis and product comparisons
- Produce internal and external collateral to support product positioning and commercial activity
- Manage hardware manufacturers and technology suppliers, assessing new and existing product capabilities
- Understand how supplier technologies integrate into wider products, airtime services and infrastructure
- Prioritise effectively during periods of high demand while maintaining a balanced view across the full area of responsibility
- Technical Product Management experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of IP networking
- Experience within mobile satcoms, satellite communications, telecoms, airtime services, connectivity or a related technology environment
- Experience managing hardware suppliers and assessing new and existing product capabilities
- Ability to understand how technology products integrate into wider infrastructure and service offerings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear customer and sales benefits
- Experience producing technical documentation, sales collateral or product marketing material
- Requirements capture and application experience

- Familiarity with modern digital satellite communications and IT systems
- Knowledge of VSAT networks and infrastructure
- Exposure to Linux and Windows operating systems
- Experience supporting international sales teams or customers
- Experience working across product, airtime, engineering, marketing and commercial teams
- Must come from a NATO country background
- Must have lived and worked in the UK for the most recent 5 consecutive years
- Must be eligible to undergo security vetting where required
- The role is based in Redhill, Surrey
- Candidates must be able to work fully onsite in Redhill for the first 6 months
- After the initial 6-month period, the role can offer up to 6 remote working days per month
- Occasional travel may be required
