We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Operational Manager with a strong background in fire safety and operational management. This pivotal role will focus on ensuring operational excellence while driving business growth, building client relationships, and leading a team of professionals to deliver exceptional fire safety services. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of fire safety projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
- Lead and manage a team of fire risk assessors, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure alignment with company and third-party accreditation requirements (e.g., NSI SP205).
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve service delivery and drive efficiency.
- Act as the point of escalation for high-risk or complex fire risk assessment projects.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities, manage tender processes, and contribute to the growth of the company’s client portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor for fire safety compliance.
- Deliver client presentations, proposals, and training as required.
- Ensure fire risk assessments and related services (e.g., fire door surveys, compartmentation surveys) are delivered to a high standard.
- Validate and review reports produced by the team, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders such as fire services, building managers, and regulators.
- Monitor industry trends, legislation, and best practices to ensure the company remains at the forefront of fire safety compliance.
- Lead internal quality assurance and audit processes to maintain high service standards.
- Regular national travel and overnight stays are essential to meet client and operational needs.
Requirements:
- Proven track record as a Principal or Head of Fire Risk Assessment or similar role, with significant commercial and operational management experience.
- Strong understanding of UK fire safety legislation, technical standards, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and deliver business development outcomes.
- Experience in tender management, proposal writing, and presenting to stakeholders.
- Operational expertise, including team management, resource allocation, and project delivery.
- Full clean driving license and willingness to travel extensively across the UK.
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalent (essential).
- Desirable: Membership or certification with bodies such as the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), IFSM, or BAFE SP205.
- Additional qualifications such as a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or inclusion on the NAFRAR or IFE Register of Fire Risk Assessors are a plus.
