Elvet Recruitment are working alongside a local business, currently on the lookout for a Building Surveyor/Clerk of Works to join their team.

This role would be suited for someone from a Trades background who wants to explore a Surveying opportunity.

Main Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Building surveys on Residential and commercial buildings
  • Stock Condition, Defect Analysis and Damp Surveys
  • Producing drawings using Auto CAD
  • Prepare planning applications and schedules of work/specifications
  • Ensure compliance to the Building Regulations as well as sustainable design and low carbon technlogy
  • Assist in the diagnosis of defects and quality control on sites

Ideal Candidates

  • Ssomeone who may have been a former tradesman that wants to get into surveying and may have completed a HNC or similar.
  • Good technical knowledge that would be suitable for being trained as a Clerk of Works.
  • Good at reading drawings, technical specifications, could also be from an M&E background etc.
  • Ideally someone that has had some experience as a project surveyor, quality inspector etc.
  • This could also be suited for surveyor that maybe working in Building Control or similar.

Remuneration

Depending on the experience of the successful candidate, salaries for the position can vary from £30,000 to £45,000.

The business are highly flexible on their working arrangements, working a 35 hour week Monday to Friday (circa 4.5 days).
