Elvet Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit an Accounts and Payroll Manager for their North East team. This organisation operates across a range of projects, delivering high-quality services to clients in sectors such as construction, infrastructure, engineering, and development. Main Duties
- Manage and process company payroll using Sage Payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with statutory deadlines
- Carry out day-to-day bookkeeping, maintaining accurate financial records
- Raise and manage sales invoices, monitor payments, and chase outstanding debtors
- Process supplier invoices and manage bill payments
- Maintain financial data using Sage Cloud Accounting
- Support management with regular financial information and reporting as required
- Undertake general finance and accounts administration duties
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in an accounts and payroll role
- Strong working knowledge of Sage Cloud Accounting and Sage Payroll (essential)
- Good understanding of VAT, payroll, and general accounting principles
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple tasks
- Professional, trustworthy, and discreet when handling confidential information
Role Details
- Full time - 40 hours or opportunity for Part-time: 20 to 25 hours per week, spread across 5 days
- Office-based role (or hybrid/remote - amend if applicable)
- Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
- Holiday entitlement: 20 days annual leave pro rata plus all UK bank holidays
- This is a permanent position.
