This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial performance, governance, and long-term growth strategy across a regional business unit for their offices in County Durham. With continued regional growth and ambitious development plans, they are seeking a commercially driven finance leader who can provide strategic direction, robust financial oversight, and influential leadership across multiple operational functions.

As Regional Finance Director, you will work closely with the Regional Managing Director and senior leadership team, providing financial insight and challenge across land acquisition, development delivery, sales performance, and cash generation. This is a high-impact role offering significant visibility and the opportunity to influence key business decisions at regional level.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Acting as the senior financial authority across the Region, ensuring strong financial governance and control
  • Leading the preparation and delivery of accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Driving budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning processes
  • Overseeing commercial valuations, challenging revenues, costs, and margin assumptions
  • Supporting development appraisals and ensuring alignment with Group return expectations
  • Managing regional cashflow forecasting, delivery, and scenario modelling
  • Championing high-quality financial data, reporting systems, and operational insight
  • Partnering closely with Land, Sales, Commercial, and Construction teams to support business performance
  • Providing financial challenge and strategic guidance to senior operational stakeholders
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing regional finance team
  • Ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies, governance standards, and reporting requirements
  • Supporting long-term regional strategy and sustainable growth plans

What We’re Looking For:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Proven senior finance leadership experience within housebuilding, construction, or a capital-intensive environment
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Group-level reporting structures
  • Experience supporting land appraisals, CVRs, development appraisals, and cashflow forecasting
  • Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to influence senior operational leaders
  • Advanced analytical, financial modelling, and forecasting capability
  • Confident communicator with the ability to challenge assumptions constructively
  • Strategic thinker capable of translating operational performance into financial insight
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced and commercially driven environment
  • Motivated, professional, and highly organised approach
