Elvet Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Engineer on behalf of a long-standing civil engineering main contractor to help deliver schemes across the North East. The role will cover the Northumbrian Water AMP8/9 schemes with work over the next 15 years.

Duties as Senior Engineer:

  • Provide leadership, support and development to site teams, promoting high standards of performance and delivery.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of project plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Waste Management Plans.
  • Maintain accurate, robust and comprehensive site records, including site diaries, labour allocations and progress documentation.
  • Ensure supply chain partners remain fully compliant with framework requirements, company procedures and management plans.
  • Champion a positive safety culture, driving continuous improvement and supporting the achievement of Zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI) and RIDDOR incidents.
  • Maintain strong commercial awareness, challenging project scope where appropriate and identifying the most efficient delivery solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Site Agents and Senior Agents to ensure projects are adequately resourced with competent and skilled personnel.
  • Deliver accurate and consistent reporting of project performance, including SHE metrics, programme progress, costs and change management.
  • Proactively identify project risks at an early stage and implement effective mitigation measures to minimise impact.

Experience Required as Senior Engineer:

  • Must have proven experience working as Site Engineer / Section Engineer on civil engineering projects (£5m+).
  • Must have full knowledge with: Water, Treatment Plants, Concrete, Foundations and RC Framework.
  • Must have: SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.

Remuneration: On offer is a salary of up to £52,000 (DOE) plus generous package. This is a permanent position and Elvet Recruitment Limited will be acting as an employment agency for permanent recruitment on behalf of our client.
