Elvet Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with an established construction and engineering business to recruit a Recruitment & HR Administrator to join their busy People function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR or recruitment administrator to take on a varied role covering the full recruitment administration process alongside wider HR support.

You’ll play an important part in coordinating vacancies, interviews, offers, onboarding and pre-employment checks, while maintaining accurate records and supporting the wider People team. The successful candidate will be highly organised, approachable and confident communicating with people at all levels. You’ll need excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities and a proactive approach to keeping recruitment processes moving.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Coordinate recruitment activity from vacancy approval through to offer and onboarding
  • Draft, post and monitor job adverts across relevant platforms
  • Coordinate recruitment campaigns with hiring managers and recruitment agencies
  • Maintain relationships and records with approved recruitment suppliers
  • Support application screening and shortlisting activity
  • Arrange interviews and prepare interview documentation
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process
  • Prepare offer letters, contracts and new starter documentation
  • Coordinate pre-employment checks, including references and Right to Work checks
  • Build and maintain an internal talent pool for future vacancies
  • Support onboarding and induction processes
  • Maintain accurate employee, recruitment and HR records
  • Respond to routine HR and recruitment queries professionally and confidentially
  • Produce recruitment and HR reports when required
  • Support the People team with HR projects, process improvements and wider administration
  • Coordinate new starter induction administration and monitor mandatory training completion

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience within recruitment administration, HR administration, resourcing or a similar people-focused role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build positive relationships with candidates, employees and managers
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to use your own initiative
  • Good understanding of recruitment, onboarding and general HR administration
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Desirable:
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System or HR information system
  • Understanding of UK employment legislation and recruitment compliance
  • Experience supporting multiple or high-volume vacancies
