Freelance Site Engineer in Birmingham

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for a Freelance Civil Site Engineer on behalf of a reputable large civil engineering main contractor to work on a £20m highways project near Birmingham. The Engineer will be responsible for complex setting out, QA, directing sub-contractors, site documentation and general quality control. The work will consist of aspects of highways construction in an Urban / City environment – drainage, kerbing, ducting etc. The Engineer is needed initially until mid January with possible further extension due to a consistent pipeline of work in the West Midlands area and further phases on this project upcoming. Duties: * Setting out – using relevant kit * Checking of work completed on site * As-builts & surveys * QA * Supervising gangs and workforce * Assisting Site Manager * Updating documentation for site Experience required: * Must have experience as Site Engineer within a main contractor setting * Must be confident with both setting out and QA (ITP\’s, ITR\’s etc.) * Must have experience with Leica Total Station 16 Robotics – or equivalent * Industry related qualification is beneficial (HNC/HND or Degree) * Must hold: CSCS card and full driving license Pay: A rate of up to £340 per day (doe). Can be paid CIS. Or Ltd outside IR-35 providing contractors meet requirements. Elvet Recruitment has an IR-35 partner who provide checks and IR-35 insurance packages.
