Bid Manager

Our client, one of the longest established and most reputable construction companies in the North East are looking to recruit a candidate who will undertake a key role within the business where they will become responsible for Bid Management some aspects of Business Development. The company have one of the highest staff retention rates in the industry, a testament to the culture of the business. Role Overview The key function of this part of the role is to receive tenders and maximise the chance of winning the work via a compliant tender return, seeking to maximise scores achievable when the result is based on more than price alone. Duties to include: * Receive tender enquiries and evaluate to determine if they are suitable * Review specifications, identify requirements and relevant information contained within tender pack to present to Senior Management Team (SMT) * Allocate responsibilities and requirements for component parts of tender return by liaising with and obtaining information from different departments * Co-ordinate and attend site visits / meetings * Collate unified and professionally presented tender submissions, sometimes working to tight deadlines * Receive and respond to post-tender clarifications and queries * Prepare and lead with tender presentations with support from the wider team * Receive notifications of tender results and update SMT * If successful – handover responsibility to delivery team, ensuring that they are briefed with the salient points of the tender * If unsuccessful – obtain and share feedback with team. Where necessary conduct a review to identify lessons learnt * Manage and oversee all tender portals * Complete approved supplier documentation / PQQ’s * Opportunity to cross into Business development role contacting and utilising existing and new contacts about future work opportunities * Tracking plannings leads and portals such as Barbour ABI to explore future opportunities On offer is an attractive salary (up to £75,000) plus company car/allowance and excellent package.
