Elveden Farms Ltd are hiring! We are looking for a person to join our large friendly team. They would provide technical expertise and strategic guidance to the farm management team to aid in the sustainable production of both cereal and high value root vegetable crops. We are a 22,500 acre country estate, of which over 10,000 acres is ringfenced farmland growing combinable and vegetable crops. Crop Production Technician Competitive salary dependent on qualifications and experience Permanent contract We can offer some flexibility in working arrangements, in particular, annualised hours may be available (within the confines of crop/business needs). Continuous development of skills and knowledge is encouraged in order for us to keep up to date. Further development on BASIS and FACTS will be considered. In return we are looking for the successful candidate to have the attitude and ability to carry out a variety of tasks to a high standard and be able to work both independently and within a team. Main duties * Field walking across all crops in combination with weekly independent agronomist visits. Reporting back to the Farm Manager to help priorities and deliver agronomic requirements while also considering the financial implications. * Record keeping of weeds, pest, diseases and soil analysis results using farm management software. * Creation of pesticide application tickets, ordering and management of Agro-chemicals alongside the farms administration team. * Carry out Yield and Quality assessment digs to ensure all vegetables crops meet the customer specifications. * Assisting with the delivery and quality control of all root vegetable seed. * Conduct, deliver and evaluate field scale trials. * Assist in meeting the requirements of Farm Assurance Schemes plus customer compliance (Red Tractor, LEAF, GRASP). * Evaluation of commercial trials and industry information to help promote new thinking back to the business. * Be the internal expert in research and recommend new approaches with potential pros and cons of each suggestion. * Be familiar with our unique landscape, soil type and farming set up. * Any other duties commensurate with the role as requested by management.
