Elterwater Hostel is seeking a Hostel Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the hostel, creating a friendly environment for team working and ensuring that guests have a great experience.
Job Description and Purpose:
- Responsible for the day-to-day running of the business, driving successful growth, maintaining customer satisfaction, achieving goals (financial, environmental, quality), and team management.
- Manage all legal, fire, and employer liability risks.
More specifically:
- Day to Day Hostel Management: Lead and be part of the team ensuring smooth operations and excellent guest service.
- Business Development: Lead the development and growth of the business, drive new revenue streams, and implement efficiency gains.
- Customer Relationships: Provide efficient, friendly service, develop positive relationships with customers, and solve problems as necessary.
- Team Management: Ensure a positive team environment, manage scheduling, performance, recruitment, and training.
- Improving and Maintaining Standards: Maintain service standards, oversee property maintenance, and ensure compliance with legal and health standards.
- Catering: Provide an attractive food and beverage offering, create a seasonal menu, manage catering staffing, and control costs.
- Administration: Handle day-to-day administration, including bookings, financial tasks, supplier management, and reporting.
- Safeguarding, Safety and Security: Ensure compliance with safety measures and act as the designated officer as appropriate.
- Environment, Community and Social Responsibility: Implement environmentally friendly measures, maintain community links, and identify volunteering opportunities.
- Any other duties: As required to ensure the smooth running of the Hostel or as requested by the Directors.
