About The Role
We are seeking an ML Engineer to develop our AI/ML infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work with major pharmaceutical companies on projects that help discover the medicines of tomorrow. Additionally, you will have access to extensive data through our parent company, Elsevier, enabling the development of advanced models not possible with public data alone.
Responsibilities
- Develop infrastructure to support AI models for processing large volumes of text-based data.
- Create and support interfaces for model interaction.
- Conduct testing and documentation.
Requirements
- Experienced Python developer.
- Proficiency with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, HuggingFace, scikit-learn, PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy.
- Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, SageMaker) or Azure/GCP equivalents.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable infrastructure (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi).
- Object-oriented programming concepts and design.
- Ability to create well-documented, modular, and unit-tested code.
- Understanding of Agile development and tools like pip, git, Docker, Terraform, AWS.
- Passion for learning and applying new technologies.
Additional Skills (Advantageous)
- Experience designing or using RESTful web services.
- Experience deploying code in containers (e.g., Docker).
- Background in life sciences or pharmaceuticals.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Comfortable working in Linux environments.
- Knowledge of text processing and Big Data.
