Do you want to lead commercial strategy for a global portfolio of clinical decision support tools that help clinicians make faster, more confident diagnostic decisions?
About Our Team
Physician Specialist Solutions (PSS) is Elsevier’s portfolio of specialist clinical tools for radiology and pathology. The portfolio spans point-of-care decision support — STATdx for radiology, ExpertPath and ImmunoQuery for pathology — and curriculum-based education and training tools for residents and practicing physicians: RADPrimer for radiology and PATHPrimer for pathology. Used at institutions across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, these tools help clinicians make accurate diagnostic decisions and build specialist expertise throughout their careers.
Our commercial team is responsible for protecting and growing this global portfolio. We work closely with Product, Content, Marketing, Sales, and Account Management to design and deliver go-to-market strategies that create measurable customer value.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Director Specialist Solutions, the PSS Global Commercial Director owns the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for a sizeable global recurring revenue portfolio. This is both a strategic and hands-on role: you will set direction, lead cross-functional execution, and serve as the commercial authority for a portfolio spanning multiple products and regions.
You will drive growth through renewals excellence, new business enablement, pricing and packaging innovation, and strategic technology partnerships that embed our content into clinical workflows. Success in this role directly protects and grows revenue, accelerates deal velocity and deal size, opens new sales channels and strengthens Elsevier’s position in specialist clinical decision support.
What You’ll Do
- GTM Strategy & Execution: Develop and own the annual PSS GTM plan: market segmentation, targeting and positioning, sales plays, pricing strategy, and packaging across all global regions. Identify and develop strategic technology partnerships to embed PSS content into clinical workflows, increasing institution-wide adoption and renewal stickiness. Design scalable packaging and cross-sell offers — including specialist bundles — to increase average deal value and expand the customer base. Lead B2B and B2C growth motions, including campaigns to build early loyalty among residents and early-career clinicians.
- Renewals Excellence & Revenue Protection: Own renewal strategy across all regions, enabling Account Management with usage data, ROI frameworks, and value-articulation tools to retain at-risk accounts and grow the base. Build and deliver standardized retention enablement packages for regional Account Management and Sales teams.
- Sales Enablement & Cross-Functional Leadership: Equip Sales and Account Management teams with segment-specific plays, target lists, templates, and competitive tools to improve conversion and cross-sell rates. Partner with Product and Marketing on events and campaigns to drive lead generation. Represent PSS commercial priorities in senior leadership and cross-functional forums; act as the commercial voice of the business. Attend conferences and customer meetings as the subject matter expert (SME).
What We’re Looking For
- Required: 5+ years in a commercial, GTM, or sales role in healthcare IT, clinical SaaS, or a related field. Proven track record managing and growing a multi-million dollar global recurring revenue portfolio. Experience designing and executing multi-region GTM strategies including renewals programs, sales enablement, partnerships and pricing. Experience in working directly with customers and collaborating with sales teams. Strong analytical skills: market segmentation, commercial modeling, and KPI reporting. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functionally and influence without formal authority in a matrixed organization. Excellent communication and customer presence.
- Nice to Have: Domain knowledge in radiology, pathology, or specialist physician workflows. Experience with health IT ecosystem partnerships or workflow-embedded commercial models. Background in B2B and B2C commercial motions.
