About our Team EClinicalMedicine is a member of The Lancet’s family of world-renowned medical journals committed to publishing the best science for better lives. We are a small, collaborative, international team, handling a large volume of high-quality research, review and opinion submissions to drive thought leadership across all medical specialties. We build solid relationships with research communities to ensure we offer exciting, interesting, and thought-provoking content About the Role As an In-House Senior Editor, you will oversee the creation and publication of original content. You will take ownership for overseeing submissions and quality peer reviews to ensure we publish high-quality content. You will build global relationships with people and institutes in the medical and research. Responsibilities Assessment of submitted manuscripts based on the journal\’s scope and quality bar. Arranging peer review for selected papers and commissioning content; Scanning medical literature and news to keep up-to-date with developments; Attending conferences and academic meetings, along with laboratory and institutional visits; Writing editorials, commissioning reviews and publishing correspondence to build the journal’s profile among the communities we serve; Suggesting and helping to develop new initiatives for future developments and enhancements to our journal. Requirements Have a Medical degree with clinical experience or PhD in related field with postdoctoral experience; Demonstrate great knowledge of biological and medical sciences; Have an exceptional command of the English language and the ability to write in an engaging and interesting manner; Be able to communicate and negotiate constructively with members of the medical profession, the media and colleagues; Have proficiency with IT systems including MS Office; Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives on-time; Have a natural ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders, teams and our community; Be able to travel to internationally for meetings and conferences.
