About our Team

We are looking for a dynamic scientist to join the Cell Press Life and Biomedical science portfolio. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and unique team where you may primarily work with a specific journal that aligns with your research expertise while becoming familiar with multiple other Cell Press family journals across a broad range of scientific topics, supporting editors and authors to optimize overall publishing success, and working on cross-journal projects and initiatives for Cell Press. We are especially interested in candidates with a strong expertise in immunology, microbiology, stem cell biology, cancer biology, and/or biotechnology but encourage applications from all research backgrounds in the life and biomedical sciences.

About the Role

You will be closely engaged in all aspects of editorial work at Cell Press. Cell Press is an international organization with primary offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts; London; Amsterdam; and Beijing. This is a full-time editorial position, and we have a preference for candidates located near our Amsterdam NL or our London or Oxford UK offices. Responsibilities

  • Establishing relationships with diverse editorial teams
  • Assessing submitted research papers and overseeing the peer review and editorial process
  • Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and beyond
  • Guiding authors through various aspects of the publishing process
  • Establishing relationships with researchers and representing Cell Press at scientific meetings and visits to research institutions
  • Contributing to broader Cell Press initiatives to shape the future of science communication

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in any area mentioned above
  • Passion to think critically about a wide range of scientific issues, with a willingness to learn and absorb new areas of research
