Overview

In this role, you will help shape and accelerate the growth of Cell Press Blue, a premier open-access journal within the Cell Press portfolio. You will serve as a key liaison with sister journals, develop editorial initiatives, and help attract influential submissions by building a network of leading researchers. Expect travel to conferences and institutes as you support the broader research ecosystem. This is a high-impact editorial leadership position in a multidisciplinary, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop partnerships with other Cell Press editorial teams and production/marketing/press colleagues
  • Undertake editorial evaluation of submissions to ensure quality and value
  • Develop a broad, cohesive, and high-impact journal narrative
  • Build and leverage a network of leading researchers to attract influential submissions
  • Travel to relevant conferences and research institutes to represent the journal
  • Support the wider research ecosystem at Cell Press

Key requirements

  • Proven research expertise in physical science
  • Networking and communication skills for national and international researchers
  • Ability to think conceptually and critically about scientific issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Background in material science is beneficial but not essential
