As a Software Engineer III at Elsevier, you will be responsible for building new features in a company-leading microservice platform. You will need to combine both technical expertise and an open and collaborative attitude. You have a keen interest in improving our ways of working by reflecting on best agile practices. This will allow you to be part of an excellent engineering culture in a team of different levels of experience.

Key responsibilities:

Consistently implement new features.

Define and understand requirements.

Work with the team to build and improve technical designs.

Iterate over agile practices within the team to enable continuous improvement.

Engage with other team members to share their software development knowledge and encourage engineering best practices.

Keep up to date with the latest technologies, including automation tools, continuous experiments, testing, and learning approaches.

Requirements:

Have solid development experience with Java Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.

Have an understanding of software development methodologies.

Be familiar with using DevOps methodologies such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and the basics of Cloud-Based Infrastructure.

Be familiar with architectural principles.

Be a great communicator and enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with other engineers.
