Job Description Job Purpose\n \nTo support the continued growth of our UK operations, we are looking for a motivated and experienced professional to join our London Data Centre as an Engineer.\n \nThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the construction, operation, maintenance, and optimization of Data Centre electrical facilities, ensuring operational reliability, compliance, and service excellence.\n \nKey Responsibilities:\n \n1. Operational Oversight & Vendor Management\n \nAct as the technical lead overseeing the Facility Management (FM) team to ensure all electrical operations align with global standards and SLAs.\n \nReview and approve critical operational documents, including Method of Procedure (MOP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP).\n \nConduct regular audits of maintenance records and onsite activities to ensure high standards of execution and safety compliance.\n \n2. Technical Authority & Risk Mitigation\n \nServe as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex electrical issues and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for power-related incidents.\n \nIdentify potential Single Points of Failure (SPOF) and oversee mitigation measures.\n \nProvide technical supervision and approval for high-risk electrical operations, including UPS bypass, generator load testing, and HV switching activities.\n \n3. Strategic Asset & Lifecycle Management\n \nReview and approve electrical system modifications and capacity expansion plans to ensure no impact on live IT operations.\n \nSupport long-term CAPEX planning through equipment health assessments and lifecycle analysis.\n \nDrive energy efficiency initiatives by analysing power distribution performance and PUE trends.\n \n4. Compliance & Safety Standards\n \nEnsure all electrical systems comply with local statutory and regulatory requirements.\n \nPromote and enforce compliance with Electrical Safety Programs, including LOTO and Arc Flash protection procedures.\n \nRequirementsEducation & Qualifications:\n \nBachelors degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline\n \nCEng or IEng qualification preferred\n \nExperience:\n \nMinimum 8 years of relevant experience in Data Centre operations on the electrical side\n \nCandidates with less experience may be considered for junior positions.\n \nTechnical Skills:\n \nStrong knowledge of Electrical Power Engineering\n \nFamiliarity with electrical calculation software\n \nProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\n \nPersonal Attributes:\n \nPositive attitude with strong teamwork spirit\n \nGood stress management skills\n \nExcellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills\n \nLanguage Skills:\n \nFluent in English and Chinese\n \n JBRP1_UKTJ
