We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales team in the UK. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for driving revenue, maximising profitability, and ensuring an exceptional customer journey. You will oversee the sales of both new and used vehicles, ensuring the team meets and exceeds monthly targets while adhering to manufacturer standards and FCA regulations.

  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for volume, profit, and penetration of finance and insurance products (PCP, HP, GAP, Service Plans).
  • Manage the vehicle stocking plan, ensuring the right mix of new and used inventory to meet market demand.
  • Control sales-related costs and optimize gross profit per unit.
  • Conduct regular pricing analysis to remain competitive in the local market.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of Sales Executives.
  • Conduct daily morning meetings to set objectives and review previous day's performance.
  • Identify training needs and conduct on-the-job coaching to improve closing rates and customer service skills.
  • Manage rotas and ensure the sales floor is adequately staffed during peak times.

Customer Experience & Compliance

  • Ensure the highest standards of customer service are maintained to secure repeat business and high scores in CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) audits.
  • Handle and resolve complex customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure all sales are conducted in strict compliance with FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) guidelines and consumer credit legislation.
  • Maintain the showroom standards to a premium level.

Reporting & Administration

  • Monitor and report on sales activity, pipeline management, and conversion rates.
  • Ensure all vehicle handovers are conducted to the highest standard and documentation is accurate.

Requirements

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or Senior Sales Executive within the UK automotive industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of hitting financial targets.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK car market, vehicle funding options (PCP/HP), and FCA compliance.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with a premium or volume brand (e.g., BMW, Audi, Ford, Vauxhall, Mercedes-Benz).
  • Knowledge of Dealer Management Systems (e.g., Kerridge, Pinewood, Reynolds, Keyloop).
